Name the question before the category
If you are choosing a foundation, you need a product-specific shade comparison. If you are planning a wardrobe, you need useful garment colors and combinations. If you are describing skin depth, a broad light-to-deep description may be sufficient. A single quiz label cannot reliably serve all three purposes.
Hue & Habit is designed for the wardrobe question. Its depth selection describes the colors you want to explore, not a measurement of your skin. Selecting deep does not mean the site has classified your complexion; it requests richer clothing suggestions.
Describe clothes with three dimensions
Temperature refers here to a warmer or cooler color impression. Depth concerns lighter and darker shades. Intensity concerns clearer versus more muted color. A medium, dusty, cool blue contains much more shopping information than a vague instruction to buy colors for your skin tone.
Practice on three garments you own. Describe each without mentioning your face. You may notice that the favorite pieces share a quality even though their hue differs. A soft green and a soft rose can belong to a useful personal direction because both feel restrained, not because they match each other exactly.
Avoid inferring a season from a demographic shortcut
Skin depth, hair color and eye color each vary widely. Broad categories do not automatically dictate which seasonal palette you must use. The same clothing shade can also be worn for different effects: quiet coordination, strong contrast or a deliberate focal point.
Use a real comparison rather than excluding a season because a gallery does not resemble you. Hold similar fabrics near your face and compare the complete outfit. Your preference may include combinations that do not echo your natural coloring, and that is a valid styling choice.
Build a useful written description
Try a sentence such as I prefer medium-depth greens and blues with a soft finish, plus one light neutral. Add two existing garment examples. That description can guide your next closet edit even if you never decide which skin-tone vocabulary feels appropriate.
Enter those preferences in the notebook and save the two comparison palettes. Add the shades you like to the worksheet, but do not transfer the hex references into a cosmetic order. Digital swatches cannot capture the optical behavior of skin, the coverage of a product or the way a textile changes under different lighting.

Does undertone mean the same thing as season?
No. Undertone is one idea used in styling discussions; a seasonal palette also combines depth and intensity. Different systems may weigh those factors differently.
